ウガンダのいいところ！アフリカのいいところ！！~Good things about Uganda, Good things about Africa~

今週はイースターということで、キリスト教が多いウガンダではもちろんイースターはかなり重要。金曜日と月曜日は仕事もお休みです。ウガンダにきてそろそろ２週間以上が経過し、ウガンダを少しづつ知りつつあります☆
ウガンダのいいとこ！ウガンダはさすがに西アフリカと違い、ワインとチーズ文化は輸入に頼る以外ないので値段は高いですが、どうやらコーヒーと蜂蜜を生産していて、有名みたい。蜂蜜は全体的に黒くて、かなり臭いがきついのかなと思ったら、おいしい！確かにイギリスの影響か？カフェも本当多く、スパーやモールには必ずといっていいほどカフェが併設され、私の好きなキャロットケーキを売っているカフェもあり、すごくオシャレ！でもおもしろいのが、本当アフリカどこでもネスカフェは１００％といっていいほど見かける。アフリカ大陸がネスカフェに買収されているのかと思うほどネスカフェを愛するアフリカ人。ネスカフェを見ると私も安心します。イギリスの前にイタリアもウガンダにいた時期があり、イタリアンレストランもわりかし多くピザの質が高い！すごくおいしいです☆そして何といってもアフリカは地元ビールがうまい☆☆ベナンのベニノワーズに負けず劣らず、ウガンダ産ビールもすごくおいしい！NILEやＢＥＬＬＥがすごくローカル、私はベルがお気に入り。いや〜アフリカのビール万歳！！そしてなんといってもカンパラは中華料理屋の宝庫！！中華・韓国・日本料理を食べれるレストランも豊富で、本当食には困りません！！もちろん、ウガンダ地元料理もおいしい。西アフリカに比べると、ウガンダ料理は全く辛さもスパイスもなく、日本人でもすんなり食べれてしまう。バナナをつぶしたもの、とうもろこしをつぶしたアフリカ中どこでもあるおもち、お米、ピーナッツソース、豆ソース、魚もティラピアというウガンダで有名な淡水魚、チキンもポークもビーフもあります。西アフリカほど暑くないから、スパイスがないのかな？でもとにかくウガンダ野菜もあるし、もちろん果物もバナナ、マンゴー、パイナップルおいしいです！

これはアフリカ共通なのか。。。。？？？ベナンで私が大好きだった驚いた時のベナン人の「へ〜！」っていう高い声。全く同じ反応を示してくれるウガンダ人。まさかウガンダでも聞けるとわ、、、本当この反応懐かしい〜！大好きです。。。そして声の小さい人々。レストランでも何でもなぜか声が小さい、立場が悪くなると余計小さくなっていく声、、、本当聞こえないよ！ウソを隠せないわりに、言い訳をやたらしたがる。誤らない、、、以外と頑固でプライド高いアフリカ人。なんといってもすてきな笑顔、そして大きな心。アフリカ人でまとめていいのかわからないけど、こんなに大きな大陸なのに共通点が多く、魅力的なアフリカ人。すごく不思議で魅力的。私はどんどんアフリカの魅了にはまっている気がする☆もっともっと、アフリカの魅力探そうと思います！！
イースター始めの木曜日の夜、新しく私と一緒にコンサルタントになった同僚のゆきさん。すごく優しくて、たくましい２児の母でもあるゆきさん。家族で一緒にきていて、なんとも可愛い子ども達！元シェフの旦那さんのスリランカカレーを作ってくれ、パーティーしました。カレーすごくおいしかった☆

This weekend is a bank Ester holiday and I have no work on Friday and Monday. As most of the population in Uganda is Catholic, they have a celebration of Ester!
More than two weeks have passed since I got in Uganda and I have been discovering Uganda little by little! Though wine and cheese are normally imported from different countries like South Africa and they cost a bit more expensive, coffee and honey are well know as Uganda brands. It might be an influence of England and there are many coffee shops which provide good coffee and cakes too! Uganda honeys are basically really dark colors and I was wondering if they smell strong. I bought one kind of honey but it doesn’t smell bad at all. It’s actually pretty good! It is also interesting that there are apparently many Italian restaurants in Kampala and they serve yammy pizzas!! It might be beause of the history that Italy also conquered Uganda at some point in the past time. In fact, what I really like about Africa is beer too! Whatever african countries have local beers and they normally taste really good! In Uganda, there are some local brands such as Nile and Belle and my favorite is Belle! I guess African beers are not as strong as Japanses ones and it’s easy to drink for anybody. In Kampala, you can even easily find chinese, korean and japanaese food restaurants. Of course, I like Uganda’s local food too. Basically, local food is more or less as same as other African countries. People eat mashed bananas, rice and maize paste with peanuts or beans sauses. They are not spisy at all though! Thought there is no sea around the country, fish is caught in the Victoria lake and we can have good fish called ‘Tirapia’. People also eat pork, beef and chiken,,, many kinds of vegitables,,,,, fruits like mangos, bananas, pineapples,, I think you don’t find any difficulties about food in Uganda!
Interestingly, there are many similarities about characteristics of people among african countries,,,,,
When I was in Benin, I used to laugh at people whose way of showing a surprise with such a high voice and I loved it. Now surprisingly, I can see it in the exactly same way even in Uganda! How interesting that is!! Also people normally speak quiet,,,, especially in case of their bad positions,,, even smaller voice,,,, cannot hear you,,,. haha. It is also a characteristic that people don’t normally apology though they are wrong. They tend to say ‘it’s not me but somebody’,,,, After all, wondeful smiles and warm hearts are in common through out Africa!! It is always surprising that Africa is such a huge continent,,, but still many similarities and similar cultures are seen. Africa is so facinateing and mysterious!
As I had a new collegue at the office, I was invited to have dinner at her house. Actually, she is a married woman and has two kids! Her husband was a cook and he is good at cooking, so he prepared a Sri Lanka curry. He is originally from Sri Lanka and their children are so cute with big eyes!! I really enjoyed the wonderful diner time with her family!

ウガンダに来てから早くも１０日が経ち、少しづつ生活や雰囲気に慣れてきました。先週末は、同僚にアメリカのＵＳＡＩＤのイベントにつれていってもらい、ウガンダの地元のダンスを見たりチャリティーで手作りの品物を売ったりと楽しんできました。ウガンダはやっぱり、イギリスの元植民地だけあって圧倒的にアメリカ・イギリスといった英語圏の団体が多い。仕事はといえば、まだまだ慣れず、同僚のお世話になりっぱなしです。でも本当、職場の雰囲気はすごくよくて、同僚も優しくて毎日学ぶことばっかり。金曜日は本当クタクタ、緊張と焦りで毎日いっぱいいっぱい。
さてさて、着いてからずっと借りのアパートに一時入居していて、同僚に手伝ってもらい、ようやく今週末引っ越しました。やっと、自分の家に住めるのは本当嬉しい！そして、前任者から購入した車もようやくデビュー！車のマナーが悪いのはきっとアフリカ中どこでも多かれ少なかれ同じだとは思いますが、首都カンパラ市内もここ数年で急激に車の台数が増えたらしく、車を運転するのには度胸とずうずうしさが重要。本当にベナンもそうですが、ウガンダでもあんなにおだやかでのんびり屋のアフリカ人がハンドルを持つとどうして人格が変わるのか。。。。大阪で運転するより怖い。運転は、国際免許もOK。幸いイギリスと同じ交通ルールなので日本と同様右ハンドル、今日はスーパーまで初めての車おつかい。なんと、カンパラのスーパーは日曜日も開いているところが多い！素晴らしい！！薬局や、お土産屋、電気屋が併設されたアメリカのモールのようになった大型スーパーが本当にたくさんあって、本当驚き。カンパラはすごい！

私の車です！ My car
It’s been ten days since I arrived in Uganda. Though I am normally either at the office or at home, I’m getting used to the life in Uganda. I went to the charity event of USAID last week with my collegue and it was lots of fun to see some local tradditional dance there. Apparently there are many onrganizations of US and UK as it’s English speaking country. On my work, I find still lots of difficulties and my collegues help me a lot. I have really appriciated as they are really kind. It is at least good for me to have a good environment at the office.
I moved in a new house! I had been in a appartment since I arrived and I was looking for a house to live. Finally, I decided and moved in a new one! It is so nice to settle down,,, I just wanna be relaxed at one place. As I moved in a new place. I also got a car from my precedessor. Bad driving manner seeems to be everywhere in Africa but it is a necessity to drive,,, how come that gentle Africans change once they grip handles!!,,,, so I feel a bit scared to drive here, but I started to drive by myself. As the right handle driving system is same as Japan, it is easier for me. I drove to a super market which opens 24h. I’m still surprised at convinience of suppar markets and malls here. They are wonderful!

アフリカのウガンダに発つことになりました！
フランス留学中に、幸いにもウガンダでの仕事が決まり、ウガンダで２年間コンサルタントの仕事をすることになりました。ウガンダはケニアやタンザニアに近いアフリカの中央に位置する国で、マラウィを南アフリカに分けると中央アフリカは初めて。アフリカでまた仕事ができる、本当に嬉しい！！
モンペリエの最後の一週間は、テストの事で頭がいっぱいな上に、アフリカへの手続きでドタバタ。テストは、結局結果がでるのに１０日ほどかかるみたいで、結果を待たず日本へ郵送してもらう手続きをして日本へ帰国。ホストの両親と別れるのは本当寂しかった。最後の晩餐には私のリクエストのフランス風チーズフォンデュを作ってくれ、食後は友達がワインバーへ連れてってくれ、最後まで温かい人々のお世話になった。出発の早朝にホストのお父さんが空港まで送ってくれて、チーズやワインを持たせてくれて、本当に温かいフランスの両親。いつかまた会いにいきたいなと思う。帰りの飛行機でパリーアムステルダム間で北朝鮮の２０〜３０人の外交団と乗り合わせ、ものすごい威厳のある黒いスーツに金総書記の赤バッチを胸につけ、空港でも誰もが目をひくほどの目立ちっぷり。しかも、飛行機のアナウンスもなんとハングル！私の隣も北朝鮮人で、緊張していたけど、降りる３０分前ぐらいから話しかけられ、どうも日本にルーツがあるらしく結婚の心配までしてもらって、すごく優しい人だった。こんな経験めったにない。
日本に帰国して、東京で仕事の引き継ぎ、おまけに高校と大学院の友達にも会えてよかった！！ウガンダでは車にも乗ることになるので、国際免許を取得して、兄夫婦のミッション車を練習させてもらい、最終日は家族で水春（スーパー銭湯）にいったあとお寿司を食べた。毎回お父さんお母さんには空港まで送ってもらうけど、今回は少し気持ちが違った。ベナンから帰国したときのつらさ、その後私を支えてくれた父と母、もう二度と会えないかもしれない９４歳のおじいちゃんの笑顔、仕事へのプレッシャーとアフリカへ再び行ける嬉しさ、色んな感情が爆発して泣けてきた。お父さん、お母さん、おじいさん見送りありがとう。
関空—ドバイーウガンダをほぼ１日かけてエミレーツ航空で渡航。かなり疲れたけど、エミレーツは初めて。たいがいの航空会社は預け荷物が２３キロだけど、エミレーツは３０キロまでというのがありがたい。空港へ降り立つとびっくり、想像より大きくてキレイ！首都のカンパラも発展している！なんとシネマやカフェ、大型スーパーが入ったモールやカジノがあり、２４時間スーパーもあり、驚きです。車の状態だって、ポンコツ車だらけのベナンを考えるとよっぽどしっかりしている！東アフリカすごい！！ウガンダは確かに外人も多いから発展しているとは思うけど、ますます西アフリカとの違いを感じさせられる。でもウガンダも建設ラッシュらしく、ベナンでも見たように今アフリカは急激な変貌を遂げつつあるのかもしれない。なんといっても久しぶりなこのアフリカ人たくさんな雰囲気！大興奮です！
ウガンダに到着して、翌日から早速仕事！私の仕事は、日本大使館の経済協力の一部分である、草の根で行われる地元・インターナショナルNGOのプロジェクトに経済支援を行う業務。きっと、仕事を通してみるアフリカは違うだろうけど、ウガンダもウガンダ人も少しづつ知って、また好きな国の一つになるよう楽しもうと思います。
幸い、年間を通して一番ウガンダの暑い時期に来たにもかかわらず、ベナンで鍛えられた私にとって、この暑さはベナンで一番涼しいぐらいにしか感じない。まだまだ毎日疲れてクタクタだけど、近日中にお部屋探しと、ネットの接続を目標にがんばります。
I got a job offer in Uganda when I was studying in France! It is a consultant job for two years in Uganda. Uganda is localed in central Africa, next to Kenya and up to Tanzania and it is my first time to stay in the central.
What is so exciting for me is to be able to work in Africa again!!
Actually, the final week in Montpellier was really tough for me to prepare for the exam and my head was totally packed with the exam. As I had to go back to Japan soon after the exam, I left for Osaka without seeing the result. My parents will see my score before me in Japan,,,. My host parents were really sweet and they prepared ‘cheese fondu’ for the final dinner as I requested, and then my french friend took me to a wine bar after dinner. I had a lot of fun time until the final moment! I would like to go back to France in near futur! I had a so rare experience when I flew from Paris to Amsterdam,,,, there were some NothKorean diplomatic people wearing black suits and pinning a Kimjung-il photo on their jackets. They were obviously outstanding at the airport and many people were looking at them. Surprisingly, flight announcement was in Hangul! A person next to me was one of them and I was a bit nervous at the beginning, but he started to talk to me and I found that he was really kind. That was an unforgettable experience to me!
After went back to Japan, I had to see my predecessor in Tokyo and I stayed one night to see my friends as well. I also spent some time with my family in Osaka. Three days had passed so quickly, spending most time for preparation for Uganda. Whenever I leave Japan, my parents come to the airport, and they came with me this time too. This time was a bit different for me,,,, as I reminded myself of the hard time after Benin, strong support of my parents, my 94 years-old grandfather whom I might not be able to see again,, lots of pressure on work and excitement for my African dream,,,,,, thinking them made me cry…… Thanks very much for dad, mam and grandpa to come with me to the airport.
It took me about a day to fly from the Osaka Kansai airport to the Entebe international aiport, passing by Dubai. As I took the Emirates airline, I could bring my stuff at 30kg maximum so it was rally helpful for me. When I arrived at the airport in Uganda, i was really surprised at such a big and clean airport,,, it is totally different from the Cotonou airport,,,, even the capital city seemed so advanced,, there are a couple of shopping malls!! There is even a 24h running supermarcket!! Car conditions in the city are pretty good,,, they are not like Benin’s ones who are almost broken! I can see how much East Africa is developed in terms of living standard,,,, Benin has been rapidly developing with construction rash though,,
Anyway, I am quite happy, living in such an african environment again!!
Next day of my arriving, I started to work at the japanese embassy. My post is a consultant who takes care of one of economic assistance projects oparated by the japanese embassy. Basically the tasks are for giving financial support for local and international NGOs. I would also love to enjoy the life here, knowing local food, culture and people,,,!!
The good thing to me is that the current hottest season in Uganda doesn’t seem really hot as I was used to such a boiling hot weather in Benin,,, so I feel easier in terms of the climate here. Though I get exhausted everyday after work, I need to find a house and to connect internet as soon as possible,,,!

ウガンダに到着して、翌日から早速仕事！私の仕事は、日本大使館の経済協力の一部分である、草の根で行われる地元・インターナショナルNGOのプロジェクトに経済支援を行う業務。きっと、仕事を通してみるアフリカは違うだろうけど、ウガンダもウガンダ人も少しづつ知って、また好きな国の一つになるよう楽しもうと思います。
幸い、年間を通して一番ウガンダの暑い時期に来たにもかかわらず、ベナンで鍛えられた私にとって、この暑さはベナンで一番涼しいぐらいにしか感じない。まだまだ毎日疲れてクタクタだけど、近日中にお部屋探しと、ネットの接続を目標にがんばります。
I got a job offer in Uganda when I was studying in France! It is a consultant job for two years in Uganda. Uganda is localed in central Africa, next to Kenya and up to Tanzania and it is my first time to stay in the central.
What is so exciting for me is to be able to work in Africa again!!
Actually, the final week in Montpellier was really tough for me to prepare for the exam and my head was totally packed with the exam. As I had to go back to Japan soon after the exam, I left for Osaka without seeing the result. My parents will see my score before me in Japan,,,. My host parents were really sweet and they prepared ‘cheese fondu’ for the final dinner as I requested, and then my french friend took me to a wine bar after dinner. I had a lot of fun time until the final moment! I would like to go back to France in near futur! I had a so rare experience when I flew from Paris to Amsterdam,,,, there were some NothKorean diplomatic people wearing black suits and pinning a Kimjung-il photo on their jackets. They were obviously outstanding at the airport and many people were looking at them. Surprisingly, flight announcement was in Hangul! A person next to me was one of them and I was a bit nervous at the beginning, but he started to talk to me and I found that he was really kind. That was an unforgettable experience to me!
After went back to Japan, I had to see my predecessor in Tokyo and I stayed one night to see my friends as well. I also spent some time with my family in Osaka. Three days had passed so quickly, spending most time for preparation for Uganda. Whenever I leave Japan, my parents come to the airport, and they came with me this time too. This time was a bit different for me,,,, as I reminded myself of the hard time after Benin, strong support of my parents, my 94 years-old grandfather whom I might not be able to see again,, lots of pressure on work and excitement for my African dream,,,,,, thinking them made me cry…… Thanks very much for dad, mam and grandpa to come with me to the airport.
It took me about a day to fly from the Osaka Kansai airport to the Entebe international aiport, passing by Dubai. As I took the Emirates airline, I could bring my stuff at 30kg maximum so it was rally helpful for me. When I arrived at the airport in Uganda, i was really surprised at such a big and clean airport,,, it is totally different from the Cotonou airport,,,, even the capital city seemed so advanced,, there are a couple of shopping malls!! There is even a 24h running supermarcket!! Car conditions in the city are pretty good,,, they are not like Benin’s ones who are almost broken! I can see how much East Africa is developed in terms of living standard,,,, Benin has been rapidly developing with construction rash though,,
Anyway, I am quite happy, living in such an african environment again!!
Next day of my arriving, I started to work at the japanese embassy. My post is a consultant who takes care of one of economic assistance projects oparated by the japanese embassy. Basically the tasks are for giving financial support for local and international NGOs. I would also love to enjoy the life here, knowing local food, culture and people,,,!!
The good thing to me is that the current hottest season in Uganda doesn’t seem really hot as I was used to such a boiling hot weather in Benin,,, so I feel easier in terms of the climate here. Though I get exhausted everyday after work, I need to find a house and to connect internet as soon as possible,,,!
最後の１週間。The final week in France

モンペリエに来て、フランスを強く感じるのは、やっぱりブティックとカフェの多さかもしれない。日本にいてブティックと聞くとちょっと格式高いオシャレなお店をイメージしていたけど、モンペリエに関していうと、小さなお店がたくさんで、パン屋なんて本当数え切れないほどある。別にお昼にマクドやKFCといったファーストフードかスーパーで何かを探さなくても、すぐにパン屋さんでおいしいサンドイッチやパンが見つかる。しかもパン屋さんがどこもおいしく見えてしまう。こっちのサンドイッチはフランスパンに具が挟んであるのが基本で、かぶりつくのにけっこう時間とひつこさが必要だけど本当おいしい！お昼はよくパン屋でフランスパンだけ買って手でもって歩いてる人をよくみかける。さすがパンの都！そういえば、ホストの家でもごはんに、例えスパゲティが出ようと米が出ようとグラタンがでようと、いつもフランスパンはレギュラーで出してくれる。ちなみにマクドナルドはフランス語でも略してマクドというみたいで、聞いたとき思わず笑ってしまった。
残りモンペリエでの滞在も１週間となり、最後の週末は友達と映画を見たり、観光地にいったりして過ごしました。本当良い天気で心もうきうき。週末は東日本大震災から１年ということもあって、フランスでもその日は朝からずっと日本のことを番組で取り上げられていて関心の高さをすごく感じた。学校でも、家でも日本人の真面目さや品格をほめられることも多くおとなしいというのも聞くけど、たぶん私の手前ほめてくれてるのもあると思うけど、、、それでもそうやってこれまで多く海外に日本人の素晴らしさを伝えてきた日本人をすごく尊敬する。ベナンにいたときもそうだったけど、やっぱり日本人として品格を伝えられる日本人でありたいなと常に思う。
勉強も終盤、ここで出会った友達や家族との時間を思うとすごい切なくて離れるのがつらい今日この頃、でも試験がある以上は自分にムチうたなければいけないし。。。のこり１週間ちょっと外出を控えてがんばろうと思う！
I have realized that small shops and restaurants are lined in the city and it makes me feel really typical image of France. Especially, for lunch, french people usually buy things in bakery and there are so many bakeries in the city. I guess that’s beacuse France is such a bread eating culture,,, we love soft bread in Japan but many people have hard ones in France. So I’m now used to eat hard breads for sandwich and they taste really good.
I got left one week in Montpellier et I sent the weekend by watching a movie and doing some sightseeing with my friends. The weather was pretty good and I had a really relaxing weekend. As the weekend was one year celemony after the earth quake in Fukushima, even in France many TV programmes showed the situation in Japan. As people tend to say that japanese peopele are really hard working and serious characters. I always respct the japanses who have showed japanese hospitalities and dignity,,, it is just something really proud of,,, and I wanna also be a japanese who shows those things.
Finally, this is last week in Montpellier and after the exam in Thursday I will finish all my study here and I'm gonna go back to japan. It is kind of mixed my emotion now,,,, it's really sad to say good bye the people whom I met,,, anyway I will do my best for the final week and the exam..

春模様 Spring has been coming

早くもモンペリエに来て２週間。この街の空気にも生活にも慣れ、何より春の気候が最高に気持ちいい。優しくておもしろいフランスの父と母。お母さんの方がお父さんより強く、いつも二人で言い合ってる姿が何とも微笑ましくおもしろい。食事はさすがフランス！といわんばかりに、前菜とメインディッシュ、そして肉か魚に合わせて赤・白ワインかたまにロゼ。そしてたいがいデザートにチーズでしめる。しかもお母さんが新しいチーズを買ってきてくれるとチーズマップならぬチーズの産地がわかるフランスの地図で教えてくれる。モンペリエはブルーチーズ（ロックフォート）の近くで、どこでも売ってるしすごく濃くて赤ワインに合う。ブルーチーズもさながらに、コンテがすごくおいしくて１番のお気に入り。

最近激しくなり初めた大統領選の選挙活動。こっちにくるまではあんまりフランスの政治について考える機会がなかったけど、授業で立候補者について考えたり、モンペリエの中心街でもサルコジ大統領が着た日にかなり大規模デモが行われたりと緊張が高まっているのがわかる。

週末は、土曜日はドイツ人の友達と海にピクニック。モンペリエは街から２０〜３０分バスで走るとすぐに海岸が広がる。トラムも開通して、工事が終われば来月からはバスとトラム両方でいけるようになりそう。土曜日は少し曇っていたからそれほど人は多くなかったけど、すでに泳いでる人もいたり。。。。私達は赤ワインとチーズにフランスパンもって土曜の午後をのんびりビーチで楽しみました！いや〜、こんなことできるのもフランスっぽくてすてきです。
日曜日は、新しく今週から家族となったアメリカ人のフランス文学を勉強するマギーと、ホストの父・母とセートという街へピクニック。セートは港町でカキやムール貝の養殖をしている魚介の街。港にテラスのあるレストランが並び、夏やカキのシーズンにはたくさん観光客がくるみたい。私達はセートの街が一望できる丘まで登り、お母さんが用意してくれたサンドイッチとロゼでランチを楽しみました。すでに春模様で、桜がさいていたり、車で走っているとワインの原料となるブドウの苗木が一面に広がっていて、街とは違った農業や漁業のフランスの顔を見れた。

It has been two weeks since I got in Montpellier and now I feel more comfortable being here. Especially, my host mam and dad, they are so sweet. They always quarrel each other though,,, it makes me laugh all the time. What I’m really impressed is that my host mam prepare proper french dishes everyday. We start with an appetizer first, then a main dish and finish with some cheese or dessert. Whenever she buys some cheese, she always shows me a ‘Cheese map’ and explains in the map. That’s so cool!,,, There is a town near Montpellier where the Blue cheese is well known. After I got here, I have seen it often in dinner. It tastes really strong but I love it! It goes really well with red wine!
On Monday, the président Sarkozy came over Montpellier and there was a big manifestation in the city center. The election comes soon in a month so I can really feel the tention. It may be good time for me as well beacuse now I know better about the french politic and we talked about it in a class. Anyway, we will see how it goes.
On Saturday, I went for a picnic in the beach with my german friend. It’s really nice to have a relax day in the beach especially when the weather is good. It wasn’t really good weather, but there were still people who swam. We brought a bottle of wine, some cheese and some bread,, it was pretty cool,,, I really enjoyed it.
On Sunday, we went to Sete which is about one hour driving from Montpellier. As a new american student came over to my host house this week, we went for a picnic together. It was good weather and we had a lunch outside. Sete is known as oyster and mussel and there are many oyster and mussel farms. We also found some cherry trees and they are now blooming. It was just so nice familly picnic under the spring weather!
